The church and convent of San Vincenzo, now headquarters of the Municipality of Oristano, were under the care of the Scolopi Fathers, from whom the Palazzo takes its name, since the 17th century. In its place, according to historian Angius, there was a synagogue, a place of worship for the large colony of Jews in the city, which was forced to leave the island during the period of Spanish domination. Later on, the structure became seat of the Jesuit convent: the Piarists. Today the complex hosts the office of the Oristano municipality, specifically, the council chamber, marked by a sandstone entrance portal, and the administrative offices.
