The Church of San Giovanni dei Fiori in Oristano is a suggestive country church located on the outskirts of the city. Formerly also called the Church of San Giovanni di Fuori, it is thought to have been built around the year 1300. Today it is open in June on the occasion of the feast of San Giovanni Battista, and in February for the Sartiglia in Oristano. Peculiar of this church is a recent discovery made during its restoration operations, where a fresco was found, depicting a strange black angel, with a sword in one hand and a palm branch in the other.
